When celebrity chef Mark Sargeant decided to open a new restaurant in Folkestone, we were approached with a brief to create a bold and memorable brand identity, as well as designing menus and supporting collateral.
Although located within the harbour, Rocksalt is not exclusively a fish restaurant. As a reference to this, we created a strong identity containing a 'hidden fish', using bold clean lines together with Victorian-style illustrations and photography.
This distinct branding style was applied to menus and collateral, using a mix of heritage and contemporary to bring the brand to life. We applied the brand identity to a number of supporting elements, including everything from cloakroom cards to the exterior illuminated signage.
